About Me
I have many years of experience in practice as a social educator. I also have experiences working with varied forms of parenthood as a family therapist in Ballerup Familiehus and in my own practice. From a practice perspective, I have seen and worked with all kinds of family types and constellations and provided professional assistance to marginalized and challenged families. As a therapist I have furthermore work to expand children and adolescents life opportunities. I completed my doctorate at Aarhus University in 2020 and I have been teaching as an external lecturer at the Department of Educational Psychology, Denmark.
Areas of Expertise
Over the last five years, my teaching at Aarhus University (AU) has included philosophy of science, methodology, ethical requirements, research design and implications of research in practice. I have also been supervising Matser’s students working on their thesis. I have engaged with many different ethnographic methods within the field of qualitative research, which my PhD is based on. Furthermore, I have combined my know-how and experiences as a psychotherapist into the learning settings with the students. Facilitating group dynamics is one of my main competencies and something I consider both important and enriching. Currently I am a part of a research group at DPU/AU, researching children and young people’s perspectives on mental health and pedagogy. This research area consolidates my main interest in bringing children’s and young people’s voices into life. The results will be published in articles in 2023. I have been a member of Nordisk Nettverk for barnelivsforskning since January 2018, which also focuses on giving voice to children’s voices. Different researchers from the Scandinavian countries engage in questions about children’s everyday life and seek to expand their living opportunities.
